Asia Pacific Business Review Workshop – The Future of Connectivity in Southeast Asia
As the Institute of Area Studies, Thammasat University, in collaboration with Thammasat University Center of Excellence in Connectivity, organized the Asia Pacific Business Review Workshop 2025 under the theme “The Future of Connectivity in Southeast Asia” on 6-9 February 2025 to serve as a forum for exchanging ideas on trends, technologies, and infrastructures affecting connectivity in Southeast Asia. The event was attended by participants from many countries, including academics and representatives from both the public and private sectors. The objectives were to provide an opportunity for researchers, academics, and those interested in the topic of “Connectivity” to exchange knowledge and experiences, support the presentation of research on issues related to economic, social, and technological connectivity in Southeast Asia, create a regional academic cooperation network, and stimulate new ideas for developing Southeast Asia through the integration of knowledge in various dimensions.
There were 23 participants, including Thailand, Australia, China, Korea, Vietnam, France, Indonesia. There were 15 submissions and 10 presentations:

- Using a Strategic Framework for Economic Corridor Development to Enhance Thailand’s Regional Connectivity
- It Breaks Barriers and Opens Doors: Burmese Students’ Experiences of E-Learning
- Coevolution of technological and financial innovations generates green: Through a lens of China’s urban innovation system
- Cybersecurity Challenges in Vietnam’s Telecom: A Socio- Technical Systems Theory Perspective
- Forecasting Ridership and Assessing Subsidies for Mass Rapid Transit in Thailand
- Scenario-Based Planning for Road Freight Transportation in Thailand
- Electrification Options for Rural Digitization for Sitios in the Philippines
- Container Port Selection in ASEAN from Korean Shipping Companies’ Perspectives
- Balancing Resilience and Circularity in AI- based Humanitarian Aid Supply Chains
The event led to the exchange of knowledge and new research on Connectivity in the region, academic collaboration between universities and institutes in the region, and researchers and academics were able to apply ideas from the event to further develop future research or projects.
