Professor Ruth Banomyong Appointed as Transport and Logistics Expert to the Committee on the Land Bridge Project

The Center of Excellence in Connectivity, Thammasat University, extends its congratulations to Professor Dr. Ruth Banomyong on his appointment as a Transport and Logistics Expert to the committee responsible for studying approaches to advance the development of transport infrastructure linking the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, commonly known as the Land Bridge Project. The appointment was made under Committee Order No. 1/2026, dated 11 May 2026.

In this role, Professor Banomyong will contribute academic expertise to the review and assessment of studies conducted by relevant agencies concerning the Land Bridge Project. The objective is to ensure that the development of transport connectivity between the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea is pursued in a careful, transparent, and evidence-based manner.
The committee’s work involves assessing the suitability and feasibility of the project across multiple dimensions, including engineering, infrastructure, economics, investment, transport and logistics, the environment, natural resources, society, and the livelihoods of local communities. It also includes consideration of both positive and negative impacts, together with appropriate measures for prevention, mitigation, and remedy.
This appointment reflects the importance of rigorous academic input in supporting balanced policy decision-making—one that takes into account economic development, community well-being, and environmental sustainability—while contributing to the long-term interests of Thailand.

ศาสตราจารย์ ดร. รุธิร์ พนมยงค์ ได้รับแต่งตั้งเป็นผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิด้านการขนส่งและโลจิสติกส์ในคณะกรรมการศึกษาการขับเคลื่อนโครงการแลนด์บริดจ์

ศูนย์แห่งความเป็นเลิศทางวิชาการด้านความเชื่อมโยง แห่งมหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ ขอแสดงความยินดีกับ ศาสตราจารย์ ดร. รุธิร์ พนมยงค์ ในโอกาสได้รับแต่งตั้งเป็น ผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิด้านการขนส่งและโลจิสติกส์ ในคณะกรรมการศึกษาแนวทางขับเคลื่อนโครงการพัฒนาโครงสร้างพื้นฐานด้านการคมนาคมขนส่งเพื่อเชื่อมโยงโครงการขนส่งระหว่างอ่าวไทยและอันดามัน หรือ โครงการแลนด์บริดจ์ ตามคำสั่งคณะกรรมการฯ ที่ 1/2569 ลงวันที่ 11 พฤษภาคม 2569

บทบาทดังกล่าวมุ่งเน้นการตรวจสอบและให้ความเห็นเชิงวิชาการต่อผลการศึกษาของหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้องกับโครงการแลนด์บริดจ์ เพื่อให้การขับเคลื่อนโครงการเชื่อมโยงการขนส่งระหว่างอ่าวไทยและอันดามันเป็นไปอย่างรอบคอบ โปร่งใส และมีหลักฐานเชิงประจักษ์รองรับ โดยพิจารณาความเหมาะสมและความเป็นไปได้ของโครงการในทุกมิติ ทั้งด้านวิศวกรรม โครงสร้างพื้นฐาน เศรษฐกิจ การลงทุน การขนส่งและโลจิสติกส์ สิ่งแวดล้อม ทรัพยากรธรรมชาติ สังคม และวิถีชีวิตของประชาชนในพื้นที่ รวมถึงการประเมินผลกระทบเชิงบวกและเชิงลบ พร้อมเสนอแนวทางป้องกัน บรรเทา และเยียวยาอย่างเหมาะสม เพื่อสนับสนุนการตัดสินใจเชิงนโยบายที่สมดุลระหว่างการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจกับการรักษาคุณภาพชีวิตของชุมชนและสิ่งแวดล้อม และนำไปสู่ประโยชน์ที่ยั่งยืนต่อประเทศไทยในระยะยาว
